Civil Junction - CJ - is a café with some food for thought. We are not-for-profit social enterprise.
Our vision is peaceful and friendlier World where people and their choices matter, and their ensuing diversity as men, women & children is recognised and respected.
Our purpose is to offer a platform to diverse people and divergent outlooks for creative, cordial & convivial interactions. We believe such encounters will inform their stereotypes to make them more tolerant and respectful to 'the other'. This we hope will make this world a better place for all of us.
We plan to meet our objectives through well planned, inventive, activities:
- Celebrate diversity, multiple identities, and creativity
- Promote tolerance through a better, more animated understanding of 'the other'
- Confront tabooed issues creatively, boldly and with a sense of humour
- Generate novel thinking, new associations and innovative opportunities
- Endeavour business with a cause, and humane considerations
- Combine fresh food with refreshing & amusing food for thought
We are presently focusing on five areas viz.
- Rawadaari (Tolerance) in Pakistan; among all sorts, in all walks of life.
- Yaari Dosti (camaraderie) between creative & young people world over but in particular between Indians, Pakistanis and South Asians
- Joints-Exercises - Creative solutions to Civil-Military confusions/ confrontations
- Smaji-Gath-Jorr (Social coalitions for progress) Bringing Business-Civil Society-Government closer for collective benefit.
- Youth Matters; helping youth with a better present and promising future
